We follow the EU directive on Vehicle Depollution whereby vehicles offered for disposal must be handled in an environmentally sensitive manner.
As an Authorised Treatment Facility, German Bitz has established meticulous, step-by-step procedures to guarantee the compliant and environmentally sound disposal of your vehicles. This ensures you fulfil your legal obligations under both environmental and vehicle legislation
How Are Vehicle Disposal Works!
Remove Hazardous Liquids
At our Depollution bay, all vehicle fluids including engine oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, coolant, and washer solutions are safely drained in an environmentally friendly manner. Reusable fluids are recovered, and the rest are securely stored for safe disposal.
Wheel & Tyre Removal
The tyres are removed from the wheels and stored for recycling. The steel or aluminium rims are melted. We remove any remaining tyres from the vehicle, some tyres aren’t very worn and can be re-used on another vehicle. We perform rigorous tests and measurements to make sure the tyres are safe.
Any worn or damaged tyres are stored and shipped to a specialist handler for disposal
Metal Recycling
Once all reusable parts and hazardous materials have been removed, the vehicle is processed into a compact rectangular bale. This baled scrap metal is then collected and transported to licensed recycling facilities, where it is broken down and repurposed for use in new manufacturing processes.
Remove Battery
All car batteries are carefully removed from vehicles, thoroughly cleaned, and tested. Those that are still in good working condition are sold for reuse, helping to reduce waste and support sustainability. Batteries that are no longer usable are stored safely on-site until they are collected by licensed recycling specialists for proper disposal.
Remove Reusable Engine Parts
All usable parts are carefully removed from the vehicle, cleaned, and prepared for resale to ensure they meet quality standards. Major components such as the engine and gearbox are also extracted and thoroughly assessed. If they are in good working condition, they are reconditioned for reuse; if not, they are responsibly recycled in accordance with environmental regulations.
