The worn tyres are taken off and removed from the wheels and assessed for their condition and potential for recycling. Vehicle Salvage Definitions
Category A, or ‘Scrap’ cars
Cars that are damaged beyond repair and can only be crushed for scrap.
Category B, or ‘Break’ cars
Cars that are vadly damaged and beyond repair but has parts that can be salvaged and recycled if in a codition of repair.
Category S, or ‘Structural’ cars
Frame or structural damage that can be re-sold when fully repaired. A qualified mechanic must pass inspection of the fixed car before being sold.
Category N, or ‘Non-structural’ cars
Equivalent of Cat D, Cat N cars have been involved in a road accident but has not suffered structural or frame damage.
